DEATH OF MR. WILLIAM WILSON
The death of Mr. William Wilson, Chief Clerk arid Inspector of the Treasury Department, is announced after a prolonged illness. Mr. Wilson was the youngest son of the late Mr. John Wilson of Wetherstone, Otago, was educated at the Lawrence High School, and joined the Public Service as a cadet in 1894. He worked his way. through all branches of the Treasury Department and occupied the position of. Inspector, and also chief clerk of the Department. His outstanding ability was recognised by his promotions from time to time, and he was highly esteemed,, and respected by all classes of the Public Service with whom his duties brought him in contact. He formerly took a keen interest in the volunteering movement, and was an active members of the Civil Service Corps. Mr. Wilson was an officebearer of the Kelburn Presbyterian Church, and an active worker in that community. Mr. Wilson was forty-eight years of age at his death, and leaves a widow and three children.
