JAPANESE INSURANCE PAYMENTS

The Japanese insurance companiea have announced their readiness to pay 10 per cent, of the claims in the devastated districts, amounting, approximately, to 1,500,000,000 yen. The Government will give the companies financial assistance, and will guarantee that the existing concerns will continue in business. Thus the interests of policyholders outside the devastated areas are protected.
