QUEEN'S THEATRE.
An American "doughboy" in France is seen in "The Gentlemen From America," the production now showing at the Queen's Theatre. The inadaptability of a typical American soldier to foreign ways of doing things, and the nonconformity of European inhabitants to his idea of doing things, is the idea round which are built humorous situations. An all-star cast enacts the leading roles of the story, including Louise Lorraine, Carmen Phillips, and Hoot Gibson. GRI7 son was in the service himself, and this does much to make his portrayal of the service true to life. Other elements making for sincerity are the facts that Edward Sedgwick, who directed, was in the A.E.F. Spain is the locale of the story, and the Castilian country furnishes opportunity for "much thrilling action. The supporting films include the International News, Burton Holmes Travelogue, and, Buddy Messenger, in the Century comedy, "Smarty." Great enjoyment is given by the Queen's Grand Orchestra, under the direction of Mr. A. H. Jerome. The box plan is at The Bristol.
