BOWLERS PLAY HAVOC ON A
DRYING WICKET

LONDON, 2nd August. Drying wickets enabled bowlers to make sensational performances in county fixtures. Yorkshire dismissed Worcestershire for 42, Macaulay taking five wickets for 11 runs, and Robinson font for 22.
The West Indies touring team dismissed Surrey for 87, the last seven wickets falling for' 23, including five ducks. Francis captured five wickets for 31 runs, and Browne four for 41.
Essex dismissed Hampshire for 102 during which Louden took five wicketa for 37 runs, and Douglas five for 51. Essex, in turn, were all out for 111, the bowlers being Kennedy six wickets for 55 runs, and Newman four for 49.
