THE DAVIS CUP
FRANCE WINS FINAL IN EUROPEAN ZONE.

PARIS, Ist August. France won the European final of the Davis Cup. In the last singles match Blanchy (France) defeated Flaquer (Spain), 6-1, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.
The French team to meet the winners of the Australia v. Japan match in the 'American zone will consist of P.. Lacoste. Jean Barotra, Jacques Grugnon, and Hirst.
The earlier matches resulted as follow:—R. Lucoste (France) beat Count de Gomar (Spain), 6-3, 6-4, 6-7, 6-4; Count de Gomar beat Blanchy (France). 6-3, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2; R. Lacoste beat Eduardo Flaqner (Spain), 6-1, 6-3, 6-3: and in the doubles Count de Gomar and Flaquer (Spain) beat H. Cochet and J. Orugnon (France), 6-4, 7-6, 11-13, 1-6, 6-4.
