GISBORNE, 2nd August. The Poverty Bay Trotting Club's annual meeting was held to-day. The weather was fine and there was a good attendance. The track was rather heavy after rain in the morning. The totalisator investments amounted to £9609, as against £7767 at the annual meeting last year, an increase of £1842. Hesuits: . . : ' ' ' .
Introductory Handicap, of 100 soys; one mile and a half.—Whetu, limit, 1; Miss Marvin, 60yds bhd, 2; Queen Audubon, limit, 3. All started. Won by two and a half lengths, with a similar distance between second and and third. Time, 3min 48 3-ssec.
,Te Hapara Handicap, of 100 soys; one mile and a half.— Peterwah, 12yds bhd, 1; King Peter, 120 yds bhd, 2; Golden Gate. 84yds bhd,. 3. All started. Won by eight lengths, with six lengths l>otween second and third. Time/3min 57 3-ssec.
Gisborne Handicap, of 300 soys; two miles.—Eulius, 12yds bhd, 1; Jimmy Richmond, 36yds bhd, 2; Reliance, 36yds bhd, 3. Medway was scratched. Ivy Audubon, Jimmy Richmond, and Reliance were bracketed on the machine. Won by two lengths! with three between second and third. Time, 4min 49 3-ssec.
Dorn Memorial, of 100 soys; one milo and a half.—Guinea, limit, 1; Doctor Dillon.. 24yds bhd, 2; Lottie Advance 72ds bhd, 3. Scratched: Gladiolus. Won by a head, with forty yards between second and third. Time, 3min 44sec.
Visitors' Handicap, of 125 soys; two miles.—King Peter, 60yds bhd, 1; Rose Bingen, 168 yds bhd, 2; Golden Gate, 36yds bhd, 3. All started. Won by six lengths, with eight lengths between second and third. Time. smin 8 l-ssec.
