SYDNEY, This Day. llio Cabinet proposes appointing several new Legislative Councillors before the opening of Parliament on 7th Aug. list. Sir G. fuller has intimated that reform of the Legislative Council will be dealt witli in the coming session, so that the number will fluctuate between fifty and sixty-five, and tenure for a term will be substituted for life membership.
_- ._ .. SIDNEY, Ist August. iho Cabinet has considered the Governor's speech. It is understood that land settlement matters form the most important section. Reference is also made to amendments in the Railway Act, the alteration of the marriage laws, and industrial insurance legislation.
