An important statement was made by the Prune Minister in the House of Representatives last evening in aspect to class.ficat.on ,„ the Public Service. Replying: to- Sir John Luke (Wellington North), Mr.-Massey said that atrangementsfor .^classification in- the Public Serv,ce were being made, and the new scheme was^to come into operation on the Ist April, nest. In the meantime scale salaries were being drawn to*' J?sn i™ r> f a.mounUnS approximately to £250,000 of increase.
