FATAL FALL
MAN ..SLIPS' FROM TBAM-CAR.
.. An inquest was held, by the Coroner (Mr. F.,K.,Hunt, 5.M.,) to-day regarding the death of Charles William Davidson, a, married man, 46 years of age who received fatal injuries as a result of a fall from a tram-car on the road to Miramar on Thursday evening last. Sergeant Whitehouse appeared for the police, and Mr. J. O'Shea, City Soli;citor, for the Corporation. Evidence was given by Dr. Colin' Campbell MLauvin, house surgeon at the Wellington Hospital, to the effect s that the deceased died at 5.12 o'clock on the morning folio-wing the accident, and death, was due to' laceration of the bram and- cerebral hemorrhage. The accident was described by several witnesses, who stated that' when near the iirangi road stop the deceased stepped down to let some passengers off the car and slipped. The car was" crowded lat the time.
•; The Coroner's finding was in accordance with, the • medical testimony,' the Coroner expressing the opinion that it was clear that the deceased had stepped down to let passengers off.
