AUCKLAND, 9th May. In' the Supreme Court to-day, William John Marriott was sentenced to two years' imprisonment for breaking and entering the Drill Hall and theft, also receiving. CHRISTCHURCH, 9th May. In the Supreme Court to-day, Ernest Nichols and Edward Myers were convicted of assault and robbery. They were both sentenced to fivs years' imprisonment and declared habitual criminals. Both prisoners had very bad records, and both had previously been declared habitual criminals. Alfred Lewie, a young man who advertised himself widely in July, 1921, as being able to cure deafness in all its farms, and who set up in business in Hereford street, was found guilty at the Supreme Court of having obtained £33 from Flora Hill by false representation. In. returning a verdict of guilty, the foreman of the jury addetl. " and at the same time the jury wish to express the opinion that the authorities should take immediate steps, or should have legislation passed, to find out the qualifications of masseurs, chiropractors, and others." ' Accused was remanded for sentence.
