COUNTY ELECTION
An unexpected amount of interest is being taken in to-day's election for councillors to represent the Porirua Riding on the Makara County Council.) Voting is proceeding steadily. There are six vacancies, and the eight candidates are Messrs. J. W. Bell, L. C. Bryant, A. M'Mahon, L. D. N.airn, D. Prosser, J. Purchase, S. K. gltyles, and E. Windley.
For the M&'kara Riding no election was necessary, the two* nominated and elected to fill the two vacancies being Messrs. S. Bowler and! H. J. Monaghan. i
