AMENDED RULE
Wellington's attitude towards the amended kick-into-touch rule was briefly discussed by the Management Committee of the Wellington Bugby Union last evening, when the chairman (Mr. J. Pretideville) reported upon what had taken place at the annual meeting of delegates to the New. Zealand Rugby Union. ' "As you are aijware, our motion regarding tbe amended rule," he said, "was 'putehed through the window.' ". However, we have this comfort, that we are improving slowly and surely and are gutting down the majority. I think we will get mora later on." He pointed out that a dinection had been given that a special jneeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union be called to consider the invitation to send a team to England. In view of that he wondered whether it would be worth while for the Wellington Union to give fresh notice of motion.
Mr. F. A. Laws thought that there would be no hnrm in bringing the matter forward again. Mr. Prendaville added that he had been given 'iihe assurance by two or three unions; that they would support Wellington right through.
Prom the 'attitude of the different delegates at tfye annual meeting, Mr. J. N. Millard was of the opinion that there was not much cliance of getting a change during the season.
Mr. W. J. Hardfyam's point of view was that it wouMj be better to let things stand as. thwy were. Further action in the matter, he considered, would tend to disturb the players, and would not assist in,' Keeping up the standard of play. : The -meeting took jno action in the matter.
