ACADEMY'S SKETCH EXHIBITION
Despite most unfavourable weather since the opening iof the Academy's Sketch Exhibition on Friday last, the attendance lit the Art Gallery, Whitmore street, has .been most encouraging, and a number -of the works have already found purchasers. Among those whose sketches have been sold are: Nugent Welch (5), Sydney Higgs (5), Mrs. Douglas Jackson (2); Gwynneth Richardson (2), William Biirraud, Gordon Lovey, Menzies Gibb, W. A. Bowring, J. L. Palethorpe, M. E. R. Tripe, Violet Nelson, Ethel Richardson, A. F. Nicoll, W. H. Carter, T. .A. MacCormack, Mina Arndt, and H. M. Gore (one each). The exhibition will close on Saturday evening next, with the drawing of the art union.
