REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES
WELLINGTON'S PROGRAMME.
The tentative programme of representative matches for the season was considered by the Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union last evening, and the following list of fixtures, some of which are subject to confirmation, was adopted:—
4th July—v r Taranaki, at Hawera. 11th July— V. Wairarapa, at Wellington. Two matches {senior and > junior) in connection! with Wellington's Carnival Week. •
25th July— % Southland, at Welling, ton.
28th July—v. Hawkes Bay, at Napier; match to be for Eanfurly Shield, if Hawkes Bay are the holders. 28th July—y. Manawatu and Horowhenua, at Wijllington. 4th August-4-North Island v. South Issland, at Wellington. 11th August—v. Canterbury, at Wellington. 18th August—v. New South Wales, at Wellington; the Wellington team to include players from Manawatu and Horowhenua.
Bth September—v. Otago, at .Wellington.
12th September—v. North Auckland, at Wellington. 15th September—New Zealand v. New South Wales.
15th. September)—v. Wanganui, at Wanganui. 19th September—v. Waikato, at Hamilton.
22nd September—v. Auckland, at Auckland.
22nd September—v. Marlborongh, at Wellington. The following matches will also be played by a Wellington touring team, to be composed off players who have not previously been, in a Wellington A representative team;: —
11th August—v. King Country, 15th August—v. Rangitikei.
18th August—v. Bush Districts. Tha 1 Canterbury Uinion' is to be advised that the Wellington Union, while recognising its obligation to pay a visit to Canterbury, is unable to accede to the request to go ?3outh and play a match on the 4th June.
The dates, 25th August and Ist September, have been reserved for cup finals or other club matches requiring to be played. ,
