DISTRICT HEALTH EXCELLENT
A Statement that lethargic encephalitis is prevalent in the Wellington health district was referred to officials of the Health Department by a Post reporter to-day, and an answer was received that there was nothing in the nature of an epidemic of the disease about Wellington, nor was the disease of a typo which readily became epidemic in form. Moreover, the reporter was informed, the state of the health of the community was1 exceedingly good. The total notifications for the last week were certainly greater than those for the previous week, 34. .as against 18, but the previous week was an exceedingly good one. Indeed, the year so far had been a good one for the whole of New Zealand, the only increase of any moment having been brought about as a result of the outbreak of enteric at Auckland some time ago.
