Messrs. Jacomb, Hoare, and Co., Lon^ don, in a letter to clients, dated 22no_ May, remark that "with'new crossbred! clip wools from New Zealandnow available, and some good Victorians showing amongst the offerings, the selection of these was considerably better (at the May sales) than at previous auctions this year, and a more substantial upward move in prices than for a long time past can now be recorded. The • selection of slipes was not good, and confined mainly to the clearing up of the previous season's output, and with scoureds, which were again in request, / showed an improvement of 10 to 15 per cent- • •■ • Subsequent series will commence on 13th June and 18th July arrivals up to and including 15th March' and Ist May respectively being available, the quantities of free Australasian being approximately 85,000 bales and 78,000 bales, while later dates fixed for series to begin are sth September, 17th October, and 21st November, limits o, quantities for which will be arranged indue course."
