KELBURN CLUB

The twelfth annual report of tne Kelbum Bowling Club states that, considering the amounts expended in painting the pavilion, £29 10s,' and maintenance, £24 2s Id, it is pleasing, to; find the balance-sheet disclosing a surplus of 12s 9d on the year!s working-.. Subscriptions ■were-received from 93 playing and six honorary members. Allowing for retirements, the roll stands, at 88 playing members. The directors hope to see the membership increased to, and maintained at, not less than 100. To permit of the introduction of a second billiard table', it was found necessary to remove the kitchen from the upper room of the pavilion to the balcony, and make other internal alterations, at a cost of £22 14s 4d. Notwithstanding this ' expenditure and the purchase of a second table at a cost of £50, the billiards account shows a surplus for the year of £42 19s 4d. This has been transferred to billiards fund account, which now stands at £48 9s 7d, and is held by the directors against the debentures for £99 issued by them to meet the purchase of billiard tables and equipment. The directors desire to congratulate the members upon the introduction of billiard tables, not only because they bid fair to prove a source of revenue to the club, but also because the_ interest of the members is thereby maintained in the club throughout the year. The season just olosed has been notable for the very keen interest manifested in -the club competitions, the evenness of the green engendering fine play. Both greens have been carefully levelled and top-dressed in preparation for the coming season's play. The winners of the competitions arranged by the club wore:—Wilson Cup: S. G: Hamerton, H.
