MARIST WIN FROM WADESTOWN.
Marist secured an easy win from Wadestown on the Kilbirnie ground by 7 goals to 2. From the kick-off, j the Marist forwards took tho offensive. Stocks received a good pass from Rice, and shot the first goal for Wadestown. Later, Costello scored twice, giving Ma-rist a. lead of one goal. Wadestown pressed hard, and Cornish sent down a. long pass, which Stocks received and placed inside the net, making the scores even. Marist forwards were playing with combination, and, from a pretty movement, Costello scored again. Wadestown retaliated, and Stocks passed to Ravenswood, and the latter shot, but the ball skimmed the cross-bar. Before half-time was called Costello scored again. Early in the second spell Wadestown looked like scoring several times, but they were unable to break down the Marist defence. Marist were very nippy with their passing, and had no difficulty in adding to their score; For Marist, Costello (i), Pope, M'Elligott, and Carruthers shot goals, while IStocks (2) was the only scorer for Wadestown. Mr. W. Press controlled tho game.
