The telescope's future home is to be in Dunedin; and the instrument is a gift from Mr. John C.Begg.also a member of the New Zealand Astronomical Society, to the Dunedin Astronomical Society; Special arrangements.have bee'n made by the Astronomical; Sopiety' for those interested' to see;'the telescope in'Wellington. Mr. "Ward has unojof taken to unpack „ arid erect the telescope >nd deliver an address on Tuesday evening at the special meet-/ ing of the Astronomical Section; / This ig, not the first reflector made in New Zealand- 'The Astronomical Section has. the one made by the late Mr. Parsolis—a gift presented by Mrs. Parsons. Of.more recent -. years Mr. Thomas^' Allison,, F.E.A.S.. and Mv : J..-Thomas Ward,' have made reflecting telescopes up* to 14 inches in diameter.. These instruments perform excellently and are a great credit to New Zealand.
