The heavy rain during the week, did not seem to have affected Anderson Park so much as the other cricket .grounds in the city and suburbs, and Thorndon surprised everybody on Saturday by running: up a total' of 322, including a splendid 182 by Warne 'and M'Kellar a solid 69. Warne was three hours at the wickets, and hit 26 boundaries! and gave I no real chance till he was past the century. Banks bowled exceedingly well for Institute, and at one time had the average of seven wickets for 30, and finished with seven for 61. Following are details : — TUORNDON.-T-First Innings. A.
