SPEAKER DENIES A STATEMENT
PREPARATIONS FOR EARLY
ELECTION

Mr. Levy denies the statement attributed to him that in the event of the Government attempting^ to postpone the elections he wouS resign', stating that such a threat on his part would be most indiscreet ari3 iiupcupg^ It is now generally believecl that "Mr. M'Girr's effort to secure a postponement of the elections will fail. (Received January 17, 9 a.m."), SYDNEY, This Day. In spite o* the present uncertainty of the political situation, all parties are actively preparing fc'r an early election.
