ANNIVERSARY SERVICES
Yesterday the thirty-fourth anniversary of the Kent-terrace P.resbyterian Sunday School was celebrated by special services in the church. The R<jv. James Baird, 8.A., preached in. the morning, taking for his subject the words,- "A broken reed will He not break, the smoking flax will He not quench." In the afternoon the Rev. R. H. OatheTwood addressed ■■ the scholars on the text from Matthew v., 13_, "Ye are' the salt of the earth," urging the boys and girls to he upright and manly,, to honestly confess their faults, iwd to practise nobility of character, arid purity of life. In the evening, the Rev. Dr. J. Kennedy Elliott spoke on. the text, "Let me die the death of the righteous, andl let my last end be like His." A featura of the anniversary was the excellent singing by a large choir of Sunday school children, assisted by members of the church choh' and Glee Club, under fee leadership of Mr. E. C. Ja/ck. Mr. L. Bntcher officiated at the organ.
