MARCELLE COMPANY.

The present day theatre-going public is not pften afforded the opportunity of witnessing a.' performance in which each individiual artist has hid own specially-de-signed costumes, scenery, and lighting effects, but such is the case with Marcelle and his company, who open a season at the Grand Opera House to-mor-row night. The setting used by Marcelle in the "Palace of Pekin" was dosigned and painted only after considerable research. The main curtain is an exact replica of the Middle, or Viceroy's Gate, with its blue tile roof, and massive jade green columns with dragons in gold entwming each pillar from its base. The interior hangings in purples, gTeens, blue, and gold lend the true air, of Orientalism. The costumes are all genuine, and several; worn by Marcelle Are said to be practically priceless.. The setting used by "Chief Spotted Horse" is a faithful reproduction of the "Grand Canyon of the Colorado." Four mammoth mechanical electric lamps are used to produce the effects in this setting. The setting used by "Marshall," the contortionist, ir a novel one. The "Marclacos" offer an act that is quite unique. Their 1 work consists of crayon, novelty, mechanical,' and rag pictures.' The back cloth is a reprodaictkn of '"Psyche at Nature's Mirror." Special settings are also used for Miss Margaret Clarence's act, and for Mr. George Barnes, who provides a feast of fun.
