DIVORCE CASES DECIDED,

YESTERDAY

The Divorce., Court dealt with a number of undefended petitions yesterday afternoon. The Acting-Chief Justice (Mr: Justice Sim) was on the Bench. , Pi-ODD v, RODD. , - Elsie Marie Rodd was granted a decree nisi under section 4 of the Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act, 1920, against Edward Rodd. Petitioner, represented by Mr. P. W. Jackson, gave evidence that she and her husband had been sepa rated for a number of years. She was given custody of the youngest child. M'MORRAN v. M'MORRAN. The petition of Henrietta' Alma M'Morran for a divorce' from Weir Stoddard M'Morran was based on a similar ground. Petitioner, represented by Mr. Jackson, was granted a decree nisi. SHAND v. SHAND. His Honour ordered that; further investigations should bo made in Auckland of the petition of Frederick James Shand for a divorce from Evelyn Hilda Shand. The ground advanced was adultery Miv Mazengarb appeared for' petitioner, who alleged that on one_ occasion when he was away his wife "allowed a man to stay in the house. Later he saw his :wife invite a man named Grant into the house. Evidence was also given by petitioner's father. MAZZOLA v. MAZZOLA. j Antonio Mazzola petitioned for a ! divorce from Constance Mary Mazzola, on the ground of desertion. Petitioner had previously been granted an order for restitution of conjugal rights, and this had not been obeyed. A decree nisi wa3 granted. WILLIAMS v. WILLIAMS. James Christopher Williams, represented by Mr. Jackson, .was granted an. order for restitution of conjugal rights in respect to his wife, Emily Clara Williams. v MITCHELL v, MITCHELL. ' ; i, Alfred Mitchell was granted a similar order. Called by his counsel; Mr. Jackson, he said his wife, Ellen Eobeitson Mitchell, had gone to Sydney: He was | prepared to take' her back.
