. (it Timar.AFU.—press association.) /v CHEtoTCHTiRCH, Bth August. John Garland, a single man, a farmer, at Bennetts, was found dead in manuka scrub country at West Eyre : ton. Deceased" was."in Eangiora on Friday, and that night Mr. Blackmore, a" settler,' noticed him standing by his car oh the road through the scrub. 1 Mr. Blackmore directed him to, Oxford, deceased declining other hels. On using the road again to-day, Mr. Blackmore was surprised to find'the car still in the track, and on searching among the snow found the body of deceased.
AUCKLAND, Bth August.
Albert. Alphonsus Irvine, married, traveller, about 30 years of age, was found dead in his homo at Grey Lynn. A bottle of poison was found near the body. ' ■
John Smith, aged forty-two, a farmer and trotting horse ownep'at Elgin, committed suicide to-day, apparently by placing the end of a gun in his mouth and blowing the top of his skull to pieces. Smith was married, and had one child. He had been ailing lately, but had no financial Worries. * i
