[Poulet has been, from the news point of view, "in retirement" since the end of 1919, when he broke down on an already protracted attempt to'fly from Paris to Australia. He was the first starter in the competition, ' and left Paris in a Caudron machine on 14th October, 1919. Be only got as far as Rangoon, which he reached on 30th November. He had had much trouble with bad weather, and hia machine had suffered a good deal of damage. Finally, in attempting to proceed beyond Rangoon, he broke a piston, and the aeroplane was replaced by a. new one. It was reported in September, 1920, that he had resumed his flight, and reached Java, but nothing has been reported of any subsequent progress.] •■
