SAMOAN AFFAIRS.
For some time past Mr. " M'Combs (Lyttelton) has been en4eavouring_ to secure the tabling in the House of Representatives of correspondence with the Imperial. Government relating to the employment of indentured labour in Samoa. He" gave notice yesterday to move for a return, setting out the whole of the correspondence whiph he wished to see. He further asked the Minister of External Affairs if New Zealand had consented to the correspondence being tabled in the British House of Commons as it was stated that this would be done- if New Zealand agreed. The Hon. E. P. Lee said that on 28th July a cable was received from Lord Milner stating that it was proposed to publish certain telegrams relating to Samoa. New Zealand had agreed to that, and if Mr. M'Combs moved for a return of those telegrams it would be favoura-bly considered. Mr. M'Combs subsequently gave notice to move accordingly.
