BOISTEROUS WEATHER
Wretched weather, has been the lot of residents in-- the neighbourhood of Cook Strait 1 to-day. The explanation is that the baxometer rose in the. South during 1 the night, and there is a centre of low pressure located apparently off the East Coast of the North Island. The winds have changed. to southerlies* strong to gal«, in and southward of Cook Strait, w.ith heavy driving rain at times. The prospects ,at 9 a.m. today were for cold and unsettled weather,, with rain .generally, and snow oh the high country of' the South Island, and boisterous^ weather with heavy lain- in the East Coast districts and ajbout .Cook Strait.
