TARANAKI WINTER SHOW

(BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) NEW PLYMOUTH, ll'th June. The Taranaki four days' winter show opened to-day, under favourable auspices. There was a record attendance. All classes at the show were strong, particularly the root exhibits, which were declared by judges to be the finest seen on this coast. In the butter classes Masterton scored*'four firsts and also the points prize, and a trophy, Midhurst and Awahuri being the other winners. In cheese Mahoe (near Stratford) took three firsts, Cape Egmoiit (near Opunake), Tuna (near Stratford), and Bell Block gaining a first each.
