TIPPING MONEY INTO THE SEA.
Some criticism of large expenditure on harbour works at the smaller ports was spoken' in the House of Representatives on Saturday. The Minister of Marine gave Ms opinion that 'the question would have to be considered whether the expenditure of harbour boards would have to be controlled by the Government as a precaution against waste. He referred particularly to an immense waste of money at Wairoa, as the result of the Harbour Board's neglect to act on the advice of the Marine Department.
