MAGISTRATE'S COURT

Mr. F. V. Frazer, S.M., presided at the sitting of the Magistrate's Court this morning. Mary Patterson was fined ss, or 2-1 hours' imprisonment, for drunkenness. An old. offender named John J. S. Priest was fined 10s, or 48 hours in gaol, and the Magistrate directed that a prohibition order be issued against him. George Ireland was sentenced to twenty-one days' imprisonment for failing to comply witih. a maintenance order, the warrant to be suspended so long as 5s a week is paid off the arrears. Gustav Myers "was sentenced to a month's imprisonment on a similar charge, the warrant to be suspended so long as 10s a week is paid off the arrears. George Jelley was ordered to pay £2 2s 6d a week towards the support c-f bis wife and child, and £10 past maintenance at the rate <jf 10s a week, with £2 2s costs. Mr. J. Scott appeared for tho complainant.

A prohibition, was ordered to issue against James Crease, for twelve months.
