CENTRAL POWERS' ALLIANCE
AGREEMENT ON POLITICAL AND
MILITARY TASKS
AUSTRIAN TROOPS FOR WEST
FRONT.
(REDTER'S TELEGRAM.)
AMSTERDAM, 17th August. A Berlin official message declares that the conference of the Austrian and German Emperors, statesmen, and generals at German Headquarters manifested complete agreement on political and military tasks, and an identical interpretation of the Alliance.
The Frankfurter Zeitung says that, as a result of the conferences, Polish problems are considerably nearer solution. It is believed that an Austrian Archduke ■will be elected to the throne of Poland.
It is expected that the decisions of the Kaiser and the Emperor Charles at their conference will be announced in the Reichstag in a few days. Reports arc current that Austria has agreed to send troops to the West front on condition that Germany makes a fresh and more modest peace offer, and also concedes certain Austrian demands relative to Poland.
