There lias been a very liberal response to the appeal made to the public by Mr. James Moore, Missioner of the Seamen's Friend Society, through the columns of The Post, for clothing, tobacco., and books for the crew of the steamer Himitangi, recently wrecked at the Chathams. The Tutanekai, -which, left Wellington this morning to bring back the shipwrecked, men, took for them a large parcel of articles sent by various sympathisers. Mr. Moore desires to heartily thank all the donors.

A young man named Edwin deed, residing at 253, Rintoul-street, was riding a bicycle in Newtown this afternoon, when the "front forks collapsed, and he was thrown heavily to the ground. His face was badly cut about, and he was taken to the Hospital for treatment.
