RIBECOURT CAPTURED

LONDON, 14th August, 4 p.m. A French, communique states : Between the Avre and the Owe there was active mutual artillery activity, notably on the Roye-sur-Matz and Conchy-les-Pots sectors. On the Vesle front enemy raids were, without result. We raided the enemy's lines in tho region of Mesnilles-Hurlus (in the Champagne).

' i ' LONDON, 15th August. A French communique states : During the day we continued to make progress between the Matz and the Oise, and captured Ribecourt. East of Belval the infantry learned that a German counter-attack was being prepared, and succeeded in taking prisoner seven officers and a number of men. In the region of Eoye and Lassigny the liveliest artillery fighting was continued.
