WASHINGTON, 16th July. The Russian Embassy has made a statement to the effect that the Moscow uprising had been crushed hy ,a epin-

bination of German and Bolshevik arms. It was a manifestation of Russian national feeling, which the Germans and Bolsheviks will crush unless Allied aid is, sent. The Embassy declared that the crushing of the Moscow rising would endanger the entire Czecho-Slovak revolt. In reference to yon Mirbach's machinations, the Embassy says : "He entertained the most cordial relations with the Bolsheviks, flooded, the country with deliberate misinformation, simultaneously attempted to induce the Moderates to accept German military help to overthrow the Bolsheviks, and promised reconsideration of the Brest-Litovsk treaty."
