UKRAINIAN APPEAL TO GERMAN ARMY
"WE KNOW OUR VOICE WILL BE HEARD" (Received February 19, 9.15 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, 18fch February.. A German semi-official statement sets out jjiat the Ukrainian delegation at Brest Litovsk requested the German Government to make the following' announcement to the German people:—"The Maximalists have undertaken a Holy War against the Ukrainian Socialists. Ttys barbaric invasion seeks to destroy our independence. • We are concentrating new forces in order to oppose the Northern hordes. We look for help to the German Army in our struggle for existence by protecting the Northern frontier. We know our voice will be BOLSHEVIKS DESTROYING GRAIN CROPS (Received February 19, 9.15 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, 18th February. The Germania asserts that the Bolsheviks are burning stocks of grain hi the Ukraine as fa» as possible.
