FIERCE CONFLICTS REPORTED
ALEXIEFF'S VICTORY AT VORONESH
PETROGRAD, 17th February. It is reported that General Alexieff's army has won a' battle in the vicinity of Voronesh, which is now surrounded by the Cossacks, and is expected to fall shortly. The battle resulted in 3000 being killed or. wounded on both sides. Street r>hting is reported from Kieif, where the White Guards dislodged the Red Guards from the arsenal, killing over 1500 workmen. The Kieff Revolutionary Committee shot all the Soviet deputies. " " _ Forces comprising the Ukraine Bolshevik regiments are now attacking the White Guards encamped in the Petshovk monastery.
