POLISH PROTEST AGAINST PARTITION
GERMANY'S BROKEN PROMISE

COPENHAGEN, 18th February. The Polish. Government has issued a proclamation, in which it! protests before God and the history of the world against the new partition by the separation of Kholm. "The Central Powers promised us independence. Now they have bought peace-with the Ukraine by selling a Polish province The Lokalanzeiger says the proclamation is equivalent to a declaration ol war against the Central iPowers, which liberated Poland from the yoke of the Tsar.
