PRICES AT THE MARKETS

_ The New Zealand Farmers' Co-opera-tive Distributing Company reports today as- follows:—"Southern potatoes have remained firm in price since last report, and are about equal to the value of Australian potatoes,' which are still being imported. Wheat has firmed slightly and oats are stationary. Maize shows no change. Fair business is doing in pollard and bran at recent rates. Dressed pork is still in very short supply and the demand continues unsatisfied. Supplies of honey have come to hand and there is a fair demand. Eggs con tinue to be in excellent demand, anr prices remain same as last week. Linseed oil cake meal for stock feeding ibeing extensively used with excellent n suits.

Large quantities of spring cabbage continue to arrive, and values are slightly weaker. Choice cauliflowers are in short supply and selling at high rates. Choice lettuce meets ready sale. ' There, is now a. good enquiry for swedes. Carrots and parsnips are in good demand at high rates. White turnips are selling well. Celery, spring onions, and leeks are in fair demand. The market is well supplied with rhubarb, and satisfactory prices are being maintained. Green pea's are arriving from Nelson, and meet with ready sale at good prices.

Large consignments of Californian apples have reached this market in good order, and meet ready sale. Choice local lines of cooking and dessert apples are scarce and in good demand.
