YOUNG WOMAN DROWNED
(BT TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND. This Day. Miss M'Laren, school teacher at Ngutunui, thirteen miles from Otorohanga, was drowned while attempting to ford the Makararoa River. She was riding with a small boy behind her when the horse got into difficulties. The boy's father, who was waiting on the bank, rushed into the river. He saved his son, but was unable to help Miss M'Laren.
