Eight inebriates appeared before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., in tho Magistrate's Court this morning. William Waters, an old offender, was fined 40s, with tho alternative of fourteen days in gaol. Jas. O'Neil was fined 10s, with tho option of 48 hours' detention. Robert Upton, who was charged with having been drunk while in chargo of a horse on Lambton-quay, pleaded gnilty, and was fined £1. in dofault three days' imprisonment. The horse was a gift to the Patriofjc Committee. The other inebriates were 'first offenders, and were convicted and discharged.
