WORLD RECORD SOUP KITCHEN
Brussels's relief kitchen is undoubtedly the largest soup, kitchen in the world, says a London paper. Nearly 50,000 destitute people wait in the "bread lines" every day, and over 6000 gallons of soup, with bread rations, are daily distributed by the Commission for Eelief in Belgium. " The people are of all classes, but we know none of them save by number," said one of the kitchen directors, in an interview. " Because, no matter what their station or the extent of their misfortune, many of them, if they were compelled to write their names on coupons, would rather starve than take the soup."
