Much disappointment was caused in i League circles on Saturday by the post- ! ponement of the matches under Northern I Union rules, as the weather was quitu j suitable for football. There was n, misunderstanding. In the forenoon notice.; were posted stating tliat the games were j "off." having been inspired from some j unofficial source. They weie taken down early, but not before most of the players had seen or heard of them. Consequently very few of the town players went to Petone for the matches, which were to have been played'fet Hutt Park and- the Petone Recreation Ground. Sydenham (29) v. Addington (4): Linwood (26) v. City (10).
