(«r TELEGRAPH.- PRESS ASSOCIATION.) INVERCARGILL. This Day. The second day's races of the Southland Racing Club are being held in dull weather. There was heavy rain during the night, and the course is heavy. Results :—: — • New River Trot, of 150 soys ; one mile and a-half. — Merce 1, Hectorata 2, Doughboy 3. Won by twelve lengths. Time, 3min 55 2-ssec. Myross Welter, of 100 soys; six furlongs.—Peter, 9.2, 1; Sir Brigid, 8.2, 2; Lady Lowburn, 7.8, 3. Won by three lengths. Time, lmin lOsec.
