MASTERTON, This Day. The first day of the Masterton races opened in fine weather and with a laa'ge attendance. The track is in good order. Results : — Maiden Hack Race; five furlongs. — Goldstream 1, Altitude 2, Whisperer 3. Scratched — Miss Trumps and Klashma. Won by four lengths. Time, lmin 4sec. April Handicap, of 115 soys ; six furlongs.—Aratiatia, 7.12, 1 ; Altcar, 8.10, 2; Eocene, 7.10, 3. Scratched— Evadne. Won by a head, half a length between second and third. Time, lmin 15£ sec. Masterton Hack Handicap ; one mile. — Kimbombi, 9.3, 1; Ladify, 8.1, 2; Papamarama, 7.10, 3. Scratched — Firing Line, Chillies. Won by a head. Time, lmin 44isec. Masterton Cup, of 250 soys; one mile and a-quarter. — Kooya, 7.3, 1 ,• Big Blast, 6.7, 2; Stepney, 7.6, 3. Scratched, Ratana. Won by three lengths. Time, 2min 12£ sec.
