PERSONAL MATTERS
The Eight Hon. W. V. Massey is on his way from Alexandra to Mosgiel. The Hon. A. L. Herdman and Hon. R. H. Rhodes returned from the north yesterday. The Hon. J. Allen is at Rotoiua, the Hon. W. H. Herries at Auckland, and the Hon. Dr. Pomare at Huntly. The Hon. F. M. B. Fisher left to-day for Foxton, where ho will deliver a political address. Mr, W. H. Turnbull is still confined to bed by illness. Colonel R. J. Collins, Controller and Auditor-General, returned from the north on Saturday afternoon. His Honour Mr. Justice Denniston arrived in Wellington from Nelson on Saturday night. Mr. H. E. Anderson, of Khandallah, and a member of the legal firm of Messrs. Anderson, Buller, and Bolton, will be a candidate for the Mayoralty of Onslow. Mr. J. Pearce Luke (eldest son of the Mayor of Wellington), who underwent an operation for appendicitis at Napier last week, is making an excellent recovery.
