Ed with the death of M. Gaston Calmetta (late editor of the Figaro), who was shot, by Madame Caillaux, wife of tho French Minister of Finance, the accused, Madame Caillaux, was interrogated as to her object in taking a pistol into the Figaro office. "It was to make a scene if I did not get satisfaction," replied the accused, sobbing bitterly.
