VOLTURNO FIRE
GALLANTRY OF RESCUERS POSSIBLE CAUSE OF .OUTBREAK. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) LONDON, 16th January. The Commission of Enquiry into the fire on the Canadian Steamship Company's steamer Volturno, which caused considerable loss of life, exonerated tho officers, and in giving judgment found that the Voltumo's passengers and crew performed their duties bravely under exceptional difficulties. The Court praised the gallantry of the rescuers, and said that the fire was possibly due to an escape of barium superoxide, which burst into flames.
