"CHAPLET OF MOURNING"
ON A GLORIOUS GRAVE. LORD CURZOINPS EULOGY OF HEROES. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. LONDON, 25th February. Lord Curzon, at the Royal Geographical Society's meeting, eulogised Captain Scott, Dr. Wilson, and Captain Oates, and said he hoped their bodies would be left there with the snow as their winding sheet, the eternal ice as their tomb, and the solemn Antarctic wastes as their graveyard in which it pleased God that they should sleep. Lord Curzon added: "1^ we cannot crown him and his companions with a fresh laurel wreath, at least let as lay our chaplet of mourning upon their glorious graves." AMUNDSEN INTERVIEWED AT MONTREAL. MONTREAL, 25th February. Captain Amundsen denies the possibility of Captain Scott having starved to death. He states' that tho deaths must have been due to semvy or pto-maine-poisoning due to bad food. SURVIVORS IN SYDNEY. NO NEW DETAILS AVAILABLE. SYDNEY, 25th February. The survivors of the Scott expedition were welcomed by Professor David and others. They stated that they had nothing to add to'the details already given in New Zealand.
