TERRITORIALS

THE CADETS' WORK.' The parades of the Senior Cadets have been excellent of late. The Technical School Cadets mustered 130 strong on Monday, and the r.M.C.A. numbered 70. The Thorndon Cadets are making arrangements for a "social." to be held early in May, to provide funds in aid of their club and bugle band. The company has also entered for the cadet competitions in connection with the Easter Carnival. Senior Cadet Lieuts. Sievwright and Wardrop sat for their practical examination on Monday 'night. Considerable difficulty is occasioned the area officers by Senior Cadets, and also Territorials, changing their address without notifying area oflicerE. It may be of interest to know that under the Act they are required to v make such chahges known. There have been no proceedings taken up to the present under this section of tb« Act, but the trouble thereby Occasioned is becoming so accentuated giat it appears that steps will have to <tte taken to insist on tlie omission being rectified. The programme of the Senior Cadet exercises which, will form the basis of the competition in connection with the Easter Carnival has been issued. Practically all the Senior Cadet .companies have entered' and are hard at work in -the .endeavour to. achieve distinction. The route march will be once round Newtown Park to start, out by the Daniel-street gate, thence by Roy-street to Riddiford-street. down Rriddiford-street to the junction of Island Bay and Newtown tram-lines, thence by the tram route to Island Bay, return to Park by the same route, and round the Park to the finish. The maiching will be at attention, with rifle at the" slope.
